Best plugin 2017 : WordPress Exploit Scanner 0.1

The plugin helps searches for files on your website easily without stress, and then posts and comments tables of your database for anything suspicious or harmful. It also test your list of working and active plugins for unusual filenames.

First you need to be running WordPress 2.5.1 or higher to use this plugin. There’s not much point in finding exploited files if you’re running an old version of the software that can be broken into again.

Plugin > WordPress Exploit Scanner
This plugin searches the files and database of your website for signs of suspicious activity. It will not stop someone hacking into your site, but it may help you find any uploaded or compromised files left by the hacker.

Image

When a website is compromised, hackers leave behind scripts and modified content that can be found by manually searching through all the files on a site. Some of the methods used to hide their code or spam links are obvious, like using CSS to hide text, and we can search for those strings.

The database can also be used to hide content or be used to run code. Spam links are sometimes added to blog posts and comments. They’re hidden by CSS so visitors don’t see them, but search engines do. Recently, hackers took advantage of the WP plugin system to run their own malicious code. They uploaded files with the extensions of image files and added them to the list of active plugins. So, despite the fact that the file didn’t have a .php file extension, the code in them was still able to run!

This plugin searches through your site and attempts to find those changed files and db records. It’s far from perfect, so if you have suggestions for improving it, I’d like to hear them!

You can find the Scanner admin page linked off the Dashboard. This is the screen you’ll see. You can search in numerous ways:

  • Files and database.
  • Files only.
  • Database only
  • Search files by custom keyword.

All fairly self explanatory I think. The custom keyword form allows you to search your files for whatever you like. Be careful with that one because a search for a common keyword like “php” will takes ages and generate an extremely long list of files.

Warning! Searching through the files on your site will take some time. Even a clean WordPress install with no plugins will probably take a noticeable length of time. It’s also heavy on your server. Only run the file check when your server is idling and not busy.

Download
The latest version of the plugin can always be found on the WordPress.org plugin page.
Download the plugin => WordPress Exploit Scanner

How to Install this Plugin

  • Download and unzip the plugin.
  • Copy the exploit-scanner directory into your plugins folder.
  • Visit your Plugins page and activate the plugin.
  • A new menu item called “Exploit Scanner” will be made off the Dashboard.

Security importance use
Security is an important issue of course. If this plugin was somehow writable by the webserver it could be modified. For that reason it displays an md5 checksum of itself. That checksum is listed above, and also in the README file in the plugin zip file. Compare the checksums if you’re paranoid. If you’re really paranoid, run the script through md5sum just in case!
It also uses file checksums to rule out some false positive results which is one reason why a specific version of WordPress is needed. Newer versions of WordPress may create more false positive results.

Just a little bit of effort and have a website that will assist you in growing your business. Before converting your site to WordPress, you need to take into account its cross browser compatibility and SEO integration.

Before proceeding further, I would like you to make familiar with the process involved in PSD to WordPress.

With that being said, there are certain things that you need to know about PSD to WordPress conversion.

1. Analyze PSD files: A good programmer first, analyzes the PSD files to check for errors and complications so that it can be removed if any. Furthermore, it should be the very first step of Planning stage. It is essential as at this stage you plan how to accomplish conversion, where to add headers, footer, codes etc

2. Slicing the PSD file: This is the core of PSD to WordPress conversion as to convert to WordPress you need to slice all the PSD files. The PSD design is accessible by designers for creating multilayer files which can designers access later. The designer can modify accordingly without any difficulty.

3. Break PSD into HTML: Break each and every segment and element of PSD files to create separate header files, footers and other functionality. You can divide other segments like website banner, logo, images etc.

4. File structure: Distinct files are created for different codes and are defined by name like index.html (HTML code), index.php (PHP code) and style.css (CSS Styling code).

5. PSD into HTML and CSS: You cannot convert all the PSD files as they are not supported by some browser thus, you have to slice all the PSD files so that the files can be easily coded into HTML and then CSS.

6. Integration of HTML/CSS into WordPress: as mentioned above, to have proper and smooth functioning of the site, you need to ensure that all the files are cross-platform compatible. You can migrate the files directly to WordPress but first, coding into HTML and CSS lets you integrate the design for creating a reliable WordPress template or theme.

7. Testing the site: after following all the steps and successfully coding the respective PSD files into HTML and CSS. It is time to test the functioning of your site and to ensure that everything is fine and is cross browser compatible and should support multiple operating systems. After all, if the site doesn’t work, then you have to recheck all the steps thoroughly. Again, check all the functionality one by one as it is easy to detect any complication precisely.

Final Thoughts:

Due to the advantages of WordPress, developers and enterprises are now turning to this platform for web development services. Its cons are:

1. Easy to manage, no technical expertise is required.
2. You can create any type of website.
3. Most popular CMS and has a larger developers community.
4. Thousands of plugins to choose from

These are some of the few advantages of WordPress and migrating your site to this platform will escalate your growth. After all, the main objective of your site is to grab more and more attention and as WordPress has millions of users, it is a good platform for you to present yourself in front of those million users.

How to Build free mail subscription for your WordPress blog using MailMunch Plugin

author-pic About author
Kennedy Prosper is a professional blogger, hoping to help you and your business you can visit his blog for some wonderful articles @ www.kingsweb.com.ng

In case you weren't an entrant in my previous tutorial on this blog you can read here! Solution when all my writing inspirations are gone

Today in the blogging era mailing list has a lot to do in term of driving traffic. There are many mail list subscriber builders some render free services while others render only paid services

Some of the mailist subscribers widely used are Ymlp, Get Responds, Aweber, Sendy etc.

In one of my previous post about mailist I have discussed the meaning of mailist and its important to your website . can read it here

Sometimes it is hard committing to paid services especially when you have a very low traffic. it may not be a surprise that at the end of a whole month of subscription you hardly get 5-10 subscribers that is if you are even able to get any.

This is why it is a good idea sticking to free services until your business grows then you can migrate to pro versions.

I have talked about YMLP-The Best Free 2016 mailist service for bloggers but today am going to discuss how you can set up free mail list to your WordPress website using MailMunch and the plugin .please continue bellow.

How to set Up Free mail list Using Mailmunch plugin

Download and install the mailmunch plugin to your WordPress bog.

After successful installation you will see a new window on your WordPress admin Dashboard at the left side menu click on it. How to Build free mail subscription for your WordPress blog using MailMunch Plugin Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android

Now sign up with MailMunch

Having signed up Select the option create your first optin form How to Build free mail subscription for your WordPress blog using MailMunch Plugin Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android

You will be prompted to a new page were you will need to fill your form choose your mail layout from among the given five choices which are:- Popover, Embedded, Topbar, Scrollbox and Sidebar.

How to Build free mail subscription for your WordPress blog using MailMunch Plugin Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android

Select your mailList theme. note this option entails only two paid and free. if you choose the free theme you can later upgrade to pro version when your business finally grows.

How to Build free mail subscription for your WordPress blog using MailMunch Plugin Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android

Now customise your appearance in terms of colors , text and other personal configuration instead of using the default.

How to Build free mail subscription for your WordPress blog using MailMunch Plugin Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android

You can also Use HTML customisation if you are good at HTML language. but if you are not better use the simple method lest you get your mailist into trash.

Now the next option is to remove the MailMunch logo this will prompt you to upgrade version but if you don't have the fund you can leave it like that since will not distract your subscribers neither does it have any diminishing effect on your blog.....

Set the time your optin form will appear to your site visitors.

from the next option you will be asked to integrate an email subscription service like GetResponse and Aweber.

This integration option is a must , but if you don’t have an account, the mailmunch plugin will still saves your email subscribers in their own database and you can export it as a CSV file at any time.

since you can still save your data in your database if you don't want this option you can just skip it to the next step.

From the next step you will be asked if you want to continue with the free account or a migrate to a paid account.

Like you know we have already wanted the free option lol. so just click on Finish Setup and now you are done....Now your form will appear in your blog according to your configuration style.

Not to bridge too far you can see how it will appear on your blog

Conclusion Hope you love this tutorial if yes don't forget to use the share button ,your friend might also be in need of it. well before i exit my inscription I must say no duty more urgent than that of a million thanks to Amodu who has allotted me the opportunity of writing this awesome tutorial on his blog!!!!! and shout out to all Zealmat fans who are dedicated in reading our updates THUMB Up and feel free to share your own view.
